Iris, 41 years old, experienced all-round loctician and proud owner of Irie Dreads Salon.

In addition, I am the mother of 3 boys and I never sit still, I am always developing something new. I have had locs for 17 years and since 2018 I have switched to something new, a nice mix of locs and loose strands called Beachlocs. Conceived and designed by me... And guess what? This style is now the absolute favorite in the salon! Super cool to see how much this was picked up and how many women we were able to make happy with this look

With over 20 years of experience in all/different hair types, I still love trimming and creating dreads. To create neat, tight round locs from grown roots and to give volume to beach locs and to give them a fresh look, for example. Also to provide my colleagues and customers with information about maintaining locs and using the right hair products.

The doors of my salon on Heesterveld have been open since 2014 and I have been able to gather a unique clientele around me.

I am super proud of what Irie Dreads Salon means right now, the path we have walked, the growth of our clientele and all the adventures that still await us.

I love my job, the bond with our customers, styling beautiful locs, and especially that smile on your faces when you stare confidently at your new look in the mirror.

The other days of the week I'm completely in momlifewithIrie mode, chilling with my kids and our busy family of five. While we survive the day, I work like a busy bee on all the content and the goings-on around the salon. There are still so many cool plans in the pipeline, I can't wait to see you in the chair soon!

My loc journey started as a little girl, when the hair on my head started to grow, my mother made the choice to make locs out of it. I am happy with this choice, it is easy, beautiful, long, and easy to care for. I'm proud of my long locs, this is my crown! I come from a Rastafarian family where locomotives were always an important part of our lives.

I have turned my passion for locs into a hobby and feel blessed that I can now continue this in the salon at Irie Dreads. We actually knew years ago when we became mothers and friends together that this day would one day come and we would continue our love for locs together in the salon, and here we are, look at us now! Doing what we know best!

I specialize in Black Hair, from hair type 3b to 4c with the interlock method. You will find me in the salon on Wednesdays!

Laura, 32 years old, from Heemstede

My journey with dreadlocks started six years ago. After careful consideration, I decided to have some dreads put in my hair, which gradually multiplied. I currently own a beautiful full head of dreads, mainly made by myself. Having “traditional” hair does not align with my identity; From the moment I had dreads, I felt more authentic.

My dreadlocks reflect my creativity, and at Irie Dreads I can fully express that creative power. I enjoy deep conversations and building real connections. Outside the salon you can often find me in the woods or in the garden. I combine motherhood with studying herbal medicine and am passionate about making music, paintings, portraits, jewelry, hair accessories... And I do many more beautiful things!
