Iris, 41 years old, native of Amsterdam, experienced all-round loctician and proud owner of Irie Dreads Salon!

Mother of 3 boys and never able to sit still because there is always something new to develop.

I have had locs for 18 years and since 2018 I have switched to something new, a beautiful mix of locs and loose locks, called Beachlocs. And guess what? This style is now the absolute favorite in the salon! Super cool to see how much this has been picked up and how many women we have been able to make happy with this look that is the golden mean for people who do not want to take the step to a head full of dreads (yet).

With over 20 years of experience in all/different hair types and dreads styles & techniques I love to update and make dreads. To make neat tight round locs from overgrown roots and to give beach locs volume and serve a fresh look. Also to provide my colleagues and customers with information about maintaining locs and using the right hair products.

Since 2014, the doors of my salon on Heesterveld have been opened and I have gathered a unique clientele around me. I am incredibly proud of what Irie Dreads Salon entails, the path we have taken, the growth of our clientele and the adventures that still await us. I am incredibly proud of my great team, our tribe, because together we form the power behind Irie Dreads, the place where you want to come back again and again. The vibes, the energy, the passion - this is where it all comes together.

I love my job, the connection with our clients, styling beautiful locs and especially that smile on your faces when you look in the mirror with confidence at your new look.

The rest of the week I am in full momlife-with-Irie mode, with my kids and our busy family of five. While we survive the day, I work behind the scenes on all the content and running the salon. There are so many great plans for the future

My loc journey started as a little girl, when the hair on my head started to grow my mother made the choice to make locs out of it. I am happy with this choice, it is easy, beautiful, long, and easy to care for. I am proud of my long locs, this is my crowning glory! I come from a Rastafarian family where locs were always an important part of our lives.

I have turned my passion for locs into a hobby and feel blessed that I can now continue this in the salon at Irie Dreads. We actually knew years ago when we became mothers & friends that this day would come and we would continue our love for locs together in the salon, and here we are, look at us now! Doing what we know best!

I am an allround loctician, familiar with all hair types and styles, but specialized in Black Hair, from hair type 3b to 4c and especially the interlock method! You can find me on Wednesdays & Thursdays in the salon!

Laura, 32 years old, from Heemstede

My dreadlock journey began six years ago. After careful consideration, I decided to get a few dreads put in my hair, which I gradually grew. Today, I have a beautiful full head of mostly homemade dreads. Having “traditional” hair doesn’t align with my identity; getting dreads made me feel more authentic.

My dreadlocks reflect my creativity, and at Irie Dreads I can fully express that creative power. I enjoy deep conversations and building real connections. Outside of the salon you can often find me in the woods or in the garden. I combine motherhood with studying herbal medicine and am passionate about making music, paintings, portraits, jewelry, hair accessories.. I organize retreats and do many more beautiful things!
